Review V1-0

Imported from the implementation repo: ~/dev/python/HDDS2/Review/Review V1-0.md

Summary Judgment

The old repository showed strong technical ambition but weak project coherence.

The strongest part was the radar simulation / OFDM / range-Doppler / CFAR direction.

The weakest part was that the repo mixed:

  1. radar simulation,
  2. audio ML,
  3. GUI logic,
  4. vendored YOLO code,
  5. and notebook duplication.

Most Important Finding

The project needed a clean restart around one defendable thesis before it could become a strong graduation submission.

What Was Worth Keeping

  1. the radar simulation direction,
  2. the scenario-based evaluation idea,
  3. the technical self-critique in the radar notes,
  4. the documentation ambition.

What Needed Fixing

  1. fragmented scope,
  2. poor reproducibility,
  3. notebook duplication,
  4. weak validation strategy,
  5. ambiguous passive-radar vs ISAC naming.

Why This Review Matters

This review explains why Project v1 was created and why the multimodal extension should now be built on top of a stable radar baseline instead of returning to the old mixed structure.
