Review V1-0
Review V1-0
Imported from the implementation repo:
~/dev/python/HDDS2/Review/Review V1-0.md
Summary Judgment
The old repository showed strong technical ambition but weak project coherence.
The strongest part was the radar simulation / OFDM / range-Doppler / CFAR direction.
The weakest part was that the repo mixed:
- radar simulation,
- audio ML,
- GUI logic,
- vendored YOLO code,
- and notebook duplication.
Most Important Finding
The project needed a clean restart around one defendable thesis before it could become a strong graduation submission.
What Was Worth Keeping
- the radar simulation direction,
- the scenario-based evaluation idea,
- the technical self-critique in the radar notes,
- the documentation ambition.
What Needed Fixing
- fragmented scope,
- poor reproducibility,
- notebook duplication,
- weak validation strategy,
- ambiguous passive-radar vs ISAC naming.
Why This Review Matters
This review explains why Project v1 was created and why the multimodal extension should now be built on top of a stable radar baseline instead of returning to the old mixed structure.
